Fifty Years Ago

Someone sent this poem to me. I was asked to print this as soon as possible. We will get back to the play (One Night in the Lives of Slaves ) as quickly as we can. I try to support my readers.

Fifty Years Ago

Now in fifty years or more
The man I am married to
called me old and slow
He said You’ve let
Yourself go
He said, you don’t look the same.
He said, you don’t have
that soft girl look you had
fifty years ago.
Then he said, your movements
Are just too slow
I said, you’re a big fat storyteller
The things you are saying
Are just not so
You are four years older wiseguy
Of this I’m sure
Then I walked by a mirror
And after taking a careful look
I think what my husband was saying
might have a ring of truth.
Of course I did let him know
he is older than me
This I do know.
So ditto!
