I’ll Cry Tomorrow

From time to time,  the late-night show with Seth Myers (as host) does a little skit where Seth ask a guest to forgive him. Everyone realizes it is just a skit but Seth takes a lot of persuasions to get forgiveness from his guest. Sometimes never getting it.  For the least infraction he has to beg for forgiveness. On the other hand, the guest admits to doing all sorts of infractions against Seth and he immediately forgives them. As Christians, we should be more like the part Seth plays. I am not suggesting we lay down and behave like lap dogs. That is not what being a Christian is all about.
For boys and girls, it may be your favorite toy your friend broke. Forgive your friend. Your friend may not have broken your toy intentionally. He or she feels bad. Maybe because of jealousy the toy was broken. Your friend wanted a toy like yours and their parent/parents would not get it. It doesn’t matter. Forgive the person who has wronged you. The book of Matthew 6:14, 15

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

We, as a church, are on the Daniel Fast and our theme is forgiveness. The Daniel Fast only last  21 days. Forgiveness last forever. During the Fast, we only eat fruit and vegetables. A young minister in training at our church during our daily  6:30 p. m. prayer meeting during our Daniel Fast spoke to us Thursday night, January 11, 2018, on forgiveness. He said our pastor said sometimes we forgive others but we find it difficult to forgive ourselves.
It is important to forgive yourself. Our minds sometimes play tricks on us. When we least expect it, some infraction we made years ago is brought to our remembrance. At that time, it is important that we have the right scripture to quote to our mind.
Like the non-Christian, the one we love the most is sometimes the one hardest to forgive. God so Loved the World that He gave his only begotten son, so that who-so-ever believes in Him shall not perish but have life and have it more abundantly.
Do not worry about that toy or that special thing you lost, God will repay. Maybe not the way you were expecting, but you will find a reward that no person can undo. You don’t have to cry today. There was a movie when I was a child staring Susan Hayward called “I’ll Cry Tomorrow”.   Tomorrow never comes. There will be no need to cry today nor tomorrow if you put your hand in the hands of your Heavenly Father.
