Moe, Wrangler is Gone!

Moe. Wrangler is Gone!

We start the day with the Today Show. No, that is not true. We start the day with prayer, scripture reading, and exercise and then the Today Show as I prepare breakfast. Moe does nothing but sit on the back porch and wait for his breakfast. My, my, the life of a dog is fantastic.
I said Moe, now is your chance. Wrangler has graduated to higher duties. He is no longer with the Today Show. What are you going to do about it? May I send in your resume? You not only watch out for me but the entire neighborhood depends upon you. I have neighbors calling me to say “What is going on? I heard Moe barking late last night”. You are very good at making cozy with strangers. You don’t need anyone to teach you to wag your tail. You would be an instance success on TV. If the Today Show needs a dog, you are it. Remember how courageous you were when that snake tried to come into your marked territory. You showed that snake you were the boss. What more do they want? You are good looking and courageous. You make us all feel secure. You are are not afraid of anything yet gentle with children and older citizens. You are not a needy dog who needs constant pampering. You are brave when bravery is needed. You sit when you are told to sit. You will not wander off looking for a treat. Oh please, please Moe let me send the Today Show your resume
At that point I begin to think. What are I and all of my neighbors going to do without Moe? This is a woodsy area. Many a person in this part of town has seen wild bears, foxes, coyotes and other wild animals. We are not as young as we once were. Moe alarms the neighborhood when someone or something is there that’s not supposed to be there. He already has a job.
Forgive me Moe. I am trying to send you away and I should not do that. If you left me now, what would I do? I would have to paraphrase the song “If You Leave Me now” to say
If you leave me now, you’ll take away the biggest part of me
Oooh no Moe
Moe please don’t go
And if you leave me now, you’ll take away the heart of me and the entire neighborhood
Oooh no Moe
We just want to stay
A canine like you is hard to find
How could this neighborhood let you slip away?
We’ve come too far to leave it all behind
How could we end it all this way?
When tomorrow comes and we’ll all regret
We offered you to the Today Show on NBC
Ect. ect. ect. …………….Ooooh no Moe. Please don’t go!
You are needed right here. Like so many of us we think the grass is greener on the other side until we get there. We discover we were in the right place all the time. Not only that, no one asked you to come!
